Paying Your Balance & Signing Your Lease
Before you move in, it is imperative that you pay your balance and sign your lease. As far as balance goes, that can be found at the bottom of your lease (see below):

Paying Your Balance
As shown in your lease, we include the “Amounts Due Upon Signing,” along with a breakdown for your convenience. The example below illustrates how the total amount due is calculated. In this sample, the total of $1,734.00 comes from adding together the security deposit ($500), administrative fee ($199), application fee ($35), and first full month’s rent ($1,000).
Your specific numbers will likely be different, but this breakdown gives you a clear idea of what must be paid before you can receive the keys to your apartment. Please note that paying your renter’s insurance balance is not required before move-in, but this balance will be due during your first month of occupancy. For more information on how to pay your balance before move-in, please see our “How to Make Payments” article, which explains certified funds and payment methods.
Signing Your Lease
We will also need a fully signed lease agreement before you can pick up your keys. Be sure to initial each page and sign at the end of the document. You will also need to sign your water/sewage agreement.
If you come to pick up your keys and we do not have a paid balance, signed lease, and signed water/sewage agreement, you will need to complete these steps before keys can be issued. That’s why we recommend finishing everything ahead of time—it makes the move-in process much quicker and easier.
